Dalton State to Observe Summer Schedule
May 16, 2012
In a measure to reduce fuel and utility costs, Dalton State buildings and offices will operate on a four-day work schedule through the summer months.
“We don’t schedule summer classes on Fridays to save our students --most of whom drive in daily-- 20 percent of their weekly commute,” said Dr. John Schwenn, President of Dalton State. “By closing our classroom buildings and offices Friday through Sunday, we extend that benefit to our faculty and staff and we further save costs by reducing our use of lights and air conditioning.”
Dalton State offices are open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday until early August when the campus will begin preparing for the fall semester. Previously arranged public events will proceed as originally scheduled.
