‘The Art of Conversation’ to Be Lunch & Learn Topic
April 11, 2013
Do you think you know the most effective way to make a point or use humor to defuse a tense situation? If you could use a pointer or two, consider attending the upcoming Lunch & Learn program “The Art of Conversation” featuring Dalton State Assistant Professor of Communication Jerry Drye.
The lunchtime program will be Thursday, April 25 beginning at 12 noon and is sponsored by the Dalton State Foundation.
Drye joined the Dalton State faculty in 2009; he holds a master’s degree in organizational communication from Murray State University. Earlier this semester, Drye presented his “last lecture” to a standing room only crowd of more than 300 Dalton State students, faculty, staff, and community members. The topic for his last lecture was “Talking Funny: The Power of Being Amazingly Amusing in Life and Work” and chronicled Drye’s journey in humor and communication.
Reservations are required in advance and may be made online at www.alumni.daltonstate.edu/events. Cost is $10 and includes lunch. The program begins at 12 noon in room 105 of The James E. Brown Center at the north end of the Dalton State campus. Those with questions are invited to contact the Dalton State Foundation by calling 706-272-4473.
Dalton State Lunch & Learn programs are open to the public, ages 12 and older. Refunds are offered only on the occasion of an event cancellation by the Dalton State Foundation.
